Deuteronomy 31:8
"The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

and then there were 3
I seriously cannot believe the 2 weeks have passed by so quickly and that the team has already left. It was honestly pretty difficult to watch them leave, partly-wishing that I was going home with them. I guess it really hit me that I will be staying here in Paraguay without the team that I arrived with, but I'm so thankful for the new teammates that I have- Joe & Yoe Jin! So excited to continue my journey with these 2, who have already supported and encouraged me so much!

just the 3 of us :) |
You can also read a little bit about their experience so far...they've been
here since February!

Please pray for us:
- that we would be able to not only teach English, but more importantly, share God's love with our students- to be patient, kind, and compassionate.
- to take advantage of the time we have. These 4 months will probably fly by as quickly as the 2 weeks so we want to make the most of every opportunity!
- to continue building upon the relationships we have with the Paraguayans. We are constantly learning, growing, and being blessed by them...maybe even more than they are by us.
Thank you! I miss you and love you all <3

Estamos en Paraguay
Hola!
We arrived safely in Paraguay on the 11th and have been busy with ministry ever since!
Just for a short update:
For the majority of this week, we've been preparing for Horas Felices (Happy Hours) which is their version of VBS! We've been making flags for decorations and painted a banner that reads "El Amor Más Grande" which means "The Greatest Love".

For the majority of this week, we've been preparing for Horas Felices (Happy Hours) which is their version of VBS! We've been making flags for decorations and painted a banner that reads "El Amor Más Grande" which means "The Greatest Love".
We also went to visit other schools in the area to invite students to come to the VBS!
For two days, we had to chance to visit Joe & Yoe Jin's English classes and prepare games and songs for the students. My group taught "Heads, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes" and taught a mini-lesson on parts of the body!
At the schools, we attended cultos (worship services) led by Cristian Jara. He's the pastor that we've been working with the most and spending most of our time with.
The team on the cancha (soccer field)! I'm going to try to play a little bit while I'm here, but they are just TOO good.
& to share a little bit of what we've been eating! The food is a little bit heavy, but SOOOOO good.
Please continue to pray for us:
- We are praying that the children who attend Horas Felices would receive the gospel and accept Jesucristo as their Lord and Savior!
- Some of the teammates have been getting sick and with the packed schedule, many of us are physically tired. Please pray that our bodies & souls would be revived to do His work!
Will definitely update again soon!

The time has come!
We're leaving super early Sunday morning (August 11)! 6 AM to be exact...
During the 2-week trip, we will be participating in VBS at 5 different locations, assisting Yoe Jin and Joe in their English classes, and building relationships with the jovenes. Hopefully, we'll be able to encourage and support the missionaries and the local church members in any way that we can!

Please pray:
- for my team- for unity & opportunities to share the gospel and build relationships with the Paraguayans...and Spanish skills!
- that my pride or feelings of inadequacy will not get in the way of bringing Him glory. I want to be a faithful, willing, able, and humble servant.
- for submission & obedience- that I would be able to submit to His plan, knowing full well that He is faithful and good to His people.
- for my willingness to be challenged and refined. As much as this experience will allow me to give and serve, I trust that God will continue to teach me and sanctify me by His grace.
As the Paraguayans say,

Solo Cristo
One of my all-time favorite praise songs is "None but Jesus". I fell even more in love with it when I heard it in Spanish.
In the quiet, in the stillness
I know that You are God
In the secret of Your presence
I know there I am restored
When you call I won't refuse
Each new day, again I'll choose
In the chaos, in confusion
I know You're sovereign still
In the moment of my weakness
You give me grace to do Your will
When You call I won't delay
This my song through all my days
There is no one else for me
None but Jesus
Crucified to set me free
Now I live to bring Him praise
All my delight is in You Lord
All of my hope
All of my strength
All my delight is in You Lord
Forevermore
I know that You are God
In the secret of Your presence
I know there I am restored
When you call I won't refuse
Each new day, again I'll choose
In the chaos, in confusion
I know You're sovereign still
In the moment of my weakness
You give me grace to do Your will
When You call I won't delay
This my song through all my days
There is no one else for me
None but Jesus
Crucified to set me free
Now I live to bring Him praise
All my delight is in You Lord
All of my hope
All of my strength
All my delight is in You Lord
Forevermore
I was very blessed to sing this song during today's worship at CCSC (thanks Dinko!). I realized that I feel like my life is in chaos and confusion. As I'm preparing to depart to Paraguay for 4 months...there are some moments when I feel so unsure of what I'm doing. Am I supposed to go to Paraguay? Am I making a huge mistake? What am I going to do there? How will God use someone as weak and foolish as me? All these thoughts cloud my mind and can potentially stray me from my mission. Reflecting upon this song served as a very timely reminder that God is truly sovereign and provides me with grace to do His will. This mission trip is definitely not something I can do by my own power, gifts, or abilities. It's not about what I can do, but what He has already done. I'm still learning that I need to rely on Him completely to be my source of strength and deepest joy. There are moments when my weaknesses bring about confusion and chaos, but He reminds me that He is my delight, hope, and strength. I'm praying that I will be able to hold onto this truth and simply be obedient and submissive to His call.

August Rush
I cannot believe it's the first day of August...
ALREADY?
T-10 days.
So many emotions are running through my mind & my heart- I'm excited, a little fearful and nervous, sad, but definitely hopeful...
ALREADY?
T-10 days.
So many emotions are running through my mind & my heart- I'm excited, a little fearful and nervous, sad, but definitely hopeful...

but I'm actually really looking forward to what's in store for me in the next 4 months! I know that I will be challenged and stretched beyond belief, but I pray that I will submit all things to Him who will refine me to become a godly woman who yearns to do His will and glorify Him in all that I do.
