This past Sunday, students from both churches, Iglesia Marangatu (in Villa Elisa & Ytororo) received FREE TOMS!

Yeah, my thoughts exactly.

The church members were super excited about this because they found out that Toms are popular and pretty expensive in the States! I have to admit...I was super excited, too! When David announced to the kids that they were receiving new shoes, he explained that they were a free gift given from God, just like His grace.
OK honestly, it kinda blows my mind to even think about the concept of Toms: One for one. Someone had to pay the $ price of the shoe so that someone else can benefit from that purchase and receive a free gift. This gift is undeserved but desperately needed.
Does this sound familiar at all??
It's the gospel, people!
We were so lost in our sin and needed someone to save us from ourselves, and Christ paid the price for us on the cross so that we may have the ever-lasting and precious gift of eternal life! We definitely didn't deserve it, but it was freely given through the love of the Father. Romans 5:15b says "...and the free gift by the grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for many." He was the Only One who could save us all.
Seriously, that's just amazing. Hoping and praying that this experience of receiving a free pair of shoes will help the children to learn and experience God's grace.
It's also kinda funny because the PYT brought some donated clothes for the kids at this church, but we weren't able to bring the shoes that were donated due to a lack of luggage space...and even still, God provides in the most amazing ways.
AWESOME! So crazy how God provides. And even crazier to see TOMS in Paraguay!!!
ReplyDeletedude, i remember that kid in the second to last picture. he wanted me to take a million pics of him.
